Problems with TPU Multiple Tool-change Print

Hi!

I'm using a custom post-processing script to inject multi-color toolchanges for multi-color TPU printing, the script also builds a wipe tower that is visited after every layer. However, the prints from this script have issues with stringing, and some blobbing especially near the seam. I have tried various settings across temperatures, retraction length, and speed, but have not been able to fix these problems. These are my current settings

Settings:

Overture TPU, 235°C, 60% fan 0.5mm retraction at 25mm/s, print speed 20-35 mm/s

Any insight or help would be appreciated!

TPU is touchy - because it can compress the pressures in the extruder need time to even out.  Try printing even slower and with more retraction - the filament must be absolutely dry and kept dry during printing.

Cheerio,

Thanks for the tips. My retraction when tool is disabled is 1.2 and the retraction length is 0.5, should i the retraction for both of these?

Unfortunately there is no single answer.  Each TPE is a little different and there can sometimes be variations from batch to batch.  Your values are reasonable as a starting point but expect to test and tweak each new batch.

Cheerio,
