Adherence problems

I have been having serious problems for the last week getting things to adhere.  I have a Prusa MK3S.  It would print about a dozen layers, but when it went to print the part that came up in the middle, it would break loose from the build plate.  I had been printing fine for a couple months.

I twiddled first layer height, bed temperature, extruder temperature, nothing helped.

With the old filament I was using, it seemed that it would curl up from the bed, then the extruder would grab it and break it loose.

So, I opened a brand-new roll of Prusament filament.  Now what happens (Extruder 215C, Bed 60C or 65C) is that while printing the "outline", it doesn't adhere at all.  Multiple isopropyl alcohol washes don't help.  Using a dish sponge to "rough up" the surface (followed by an alcohol wash) doesn't help.  I'm in somewhat worse shape than before, except instead of waiting ten minutes to abort the print, I can abort it in about 30 seconds.

What's wrong here?  I'm using all the default values; although I fiddled with them, I have reset them to the original default values.

RE: Adherence problems

Have you tried cleaning the sheet with really hot water and dish soap, and then not putting IPA on it?

RE: Adherence problems

I have much better results with dish soap and a nonwoven abrasive scrubbing pad used gently with cool water. If I get in a rush with just cleaning with alcohol I start having adhesion issues. Also, I've taken to drying all my filament, even fresh out of the bag from the supplier. I do live in a humid area and it just prevents issues.

what swiss_cheese said. After a while IPA is just not good enough anymore and a good rinse with hot water and dish washing soap (I use additive free brands) will rejuvenate the sheet in no time.
