About Me
My Mundane name is Joseph M. Newcomer. I received my PhD in Computer Science back in 1975 from Carnegie Mellon University. I am now retired. I have discovered that being a "maker" is a lot easier than it has ever been. I was a member of the long-lost TechShop, and have been certified on 3D printing, laser cutter, waterjet cutter, woodshop, metal shop, powder coating, a 2 1/2-D CNC router, welding, and the non-CNC vertical mill. I am now a member of Protohaven, where I hope to soon teach courses in microcontrollers.
