MK4 + Octoprint
The blog post states that the new board has a Service USB-C port, does that mean I can still use a Raspberry Pi and Octoprint to control the printer? (Just need to buy a USB-A to USB-C cable) I know the new board has inbuild WiFi and Ethernet support, but I like the flexibility Octoprint offers with it's plugins.
RE: MK4 + Octoprint
Difficult to say until someone tries it, but that will come in time.

Since https://connect.prusa3d.com/ is mature enough, I recommend use Prusa Connect instead of Octoprint.
RE: MK4 + Octoprint
It is ok, but not near as robust as Octoprint.

I'm sure Prusa Connect can handle starting prints and monitoring them, but I also like to use Octolapse, and various other useful plugins that Octoprint provides.
I'm pretty sure that USB-C port will allow sending G-Codes to the printer, but I'd love to have confirmation.
RE: MK4 + Octoprint
I also like the historic tracking and cost estimates. Octoprint does a better job at that,

RE: MK4 + Octoprint
Yea I'm firmly in the Octoprint universe and would really miss some of the customizable features, remote monitoring, camera support, etc. I hope OctoPrint still works.
RE: MK4 + Octoprint
This is crap and not even an answer. A lot of us - probably most of us - use Octoprint and have for many years. I'm sure prusaconnect is great but does it have the plugins that octoprint does? No. Until there is some cross between the two regarding plugins, recommending that someone who already uses octoprint switch to prusaconnect is ultra garbage response.

Oh, boy. Calm down. And rather write down all plugins/features, which you missing for devs.
Most of the features that people have written here are already included in Connect/PrusaLink 🫡

For others: MINI, XL and MK4 have same Firmware, so the probability, that it works well same as for MINI, is very hight.

Thanks. I do plan to make a new microSD for my Pi with Prusa Connect and give it a try. Although the ecosystem on OctoPrint is pretty mature at this point.

Please post your experiences. I plan to also try it next week.

I'm glad I have two extra Pi 3's and 4's laying around. 😀

It is still possible to get any RPi for normal price thanks to RPiLocator website, but you have to be very fast with ordering. Every week there are some in stock somewhere.

You're rich!
RE: MK4 + Octoprint
Me to, I still have a Pi4 4g and a Pi3b+. Id really love to have Zero 2W's so the footprint is minimal but they're just not attainable for a reasonable cost. 🙁

Yea, I'm just going to swap out the SD card. cheaper than another Pi. Plus I have my Pi integrated into my MK3S with one of the available frame-mount cases on Thingiverse (I think). Really clean, looks OEM. I did originally try integrated the Zero W (1) but it just couldn't keep up.
RE: MK4 + Octoprint
Thats missing several websites, even if you just go by the raspberrypi.com vendor list. Good find though, thanks for the link.

RE: MK4 + Octoprint
I'm using this setup with a 3b+ (I think): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3759782 Super clean, powered from the Mk3S PSU and a short USB cable from Amazon connects the Pi without dangling cables or mess. I'll consider a Zero 2W on my next one if necessary. The "2" wasn't available at the time.
