After Market nozzle

I know this just released but do we have instructions on how to change to an after market nozzle yet? I have a nozzle X I will want to throw on my MK4 when it is delivered.

Best Answer by tg.creative:

You'll be able to switch to the Nozzle X but not yet. The V6 adapter is not available yet. They mentioned yesterday during Prusa Live that it will be coming soon and be "very affordable". The XL is shipping with it as a bonus but no dice on the MK4

RE: After Market nozzle

I reviewed the manual and did not see it, but then again, I skimmed it.

You might find it.  It might not be released until the kit assembly instructions are finished.

I also didn't find it, but if it uses the same hotend and adapter as XL, then I assume the instructions will be very similar:

I'll look in to it when I get home from work, Thank you for the link. I ended up ordering the fully assembled kit as I didn't want to wait for a kit lol.

RE: After Market nozzle

I ordered the 3.9 upgrade kit. I hope to add the adapter when available to my order. They are supposed to start shipping the Upgrade kits in June 2023. The only bummer is that I had to pay the total price instead of a small preorder price. I use a lot of hardened and CHT nozzles and found no use for the old standard nozzles. I want to keep at least 3 of the adapter ready to go.

Based on a video I just saw the adaptors will be available next week.

RE: After Market nozzle

My MK4 is due to be delivered today. From what Joe says it will be delivered with a 0.4 mm nozzle. I've been using 0.6 mm nozzles on my MK3S+ since Thomas Sanladerer's great YT video about the advantages. Thanks for the link to the adapter but I'd really prefer a straight up Nextruder nozzle selection. Do you have any links for those?

I haven't seen any yet, with that said I'm sure they are in development or they will add it to the site in the next couple of weeks (just a guess though)

I haven't seen anything yet about a whole new hotend. After re-watching Thomas's video I saw they mentioned the .6 nozzle and they will ship with the XL but also become available soon.

RE: After Market nozzle

So $52.51 later, $29.99 for the Nextruder V6 Nozzle Adapter and $22.52 for cheapest available shipping, I'll be able to start printing with a 0.6 mm nozzle today. This really should have been included with the printer given the lack of availability of alternate Nextruder nozzles. Typical early adopter beef.

RE:

Yeah I have a lot of those.  I knew better and I was rightfully hesitant at first because it was a matter of losing my place in line for the XL.  I shouldn't have swapped my order for MK4.  Lesson learned.

Truth be told though, most of the same beefs I have with my MK4 will exist for the XL.

RE: After Market nozzle

Nextruder Nozzles are now available. Only $27.90 each plus $22.88 shipping to the good ol' USofA. Now if the Nextruder Heater Block assemblies would become available I could bundle all the parts I want. Note also that the Nextruder V6 adapter is now out of stock.

RE: After Market nozzle

I have added the 0.25 and the 0.6 to the MK4 kit. So I don't pay the postage.
