Imports fail, message useless

I tried importing both an SVG and an OBJ created by Blender.  Both failed to import, but I don't know why.  You do.  Tell me why.  Given the superb engineering of the XL, show me a QR code.  This can give the details of what error was encountered, and why, and this allows me to go to the software group that created the product and give a link to the explanation page, so the people involved can fix the problem.  There could be hundreds of reasons why there is an error.  Giving a useful error message is important.

All software I have ever developed had unique error messages; when I got a report, I could find the exact line of code that issued the message.  This was essential for software support.  "Import failed" is not a useful message.

I am using Prusaslicer 2.7.1+Win64

RE:

I presume you have used Blenders 3dPrint tool to run an analysis of your model geometry before you actually try and export it ?

PS uses lots of libraries, if those libraries pulled in from other open sources don't actually output many useful messages then what is available to display is going to be limited.  Unless of course they massively change them to add in.

Also have you run PS with logging enabled ?

I have never used Blender before.  It was the only program that could import the object I wanted to edit.  My entire experience with it is two days.

I was able to delete most of the irrelevant parts, but when I tried to delete the actual flowers in the drawing, they were somehow undeletable.  I removed all the vectors defining five of the flowers, but the flowers have not gone away.

I never heard of the 3dprint feature, and it is not documented in the Blender 4.0 manual, so that makes it a bit hard to find.

I'm still using 3.1 but this bit hasnt changed for awhile.  Go to Edit>Preferences.  Then look for the Add-Ons.  In there its one of the Mesh tool add ons. Called "3D-Print Toolbox".  You can search the add on.  There are many.  You can also select if Official/Community/Testing ones are visible.

Once you enable it you can then use it (should be visible somewhere on screen as an extra tab with the Item, View, Tool etc tabs.

As its an official add on theres a page for it https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/addons/mesh/3d_print_toolbox.html

With it you can run checks on mesh geometry.  It can point out how many problems there are, what type and in general p[point you to where they are when in Edit view of a Objects mesh.
It is a VERY useful tool for modelling when the intended use is 3d pint.  I use it regularly and its helped me learn more about what editing operations are required to get a decent manifold geometry.

If you zip up and post your blender file here someone could also take a look at it.

According to the expanded information, the “Location” is “3D View > Sidebar”, which is remarkably uninformative.  I cannot locate any item marked “3D View”.

https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/interface/window_system/introduction.html   it might help if you went through the basic user docs.

Blender is VERY powerful.  It also have a VERY steep learning curve.  About 90% of its functionality you will never use if you are using it for modelling (and fixing) 3d models for 3d Print.  Rendering, rigging, textures etc just will not apply.

Given that the vast majority of downloaded models are still in stl format and many of them have issues with geometry, it is one of the better tools for fixing at a low level mesh.  Also the amount of add on you can get to automate tasks and make stuff easier to do if you get sucked down that rabbit hole is almost never ending.

It is still very much worth learning though.   Or not.  That's up to you.

I can try answering specific questions but a back and forth on a forum (especially one that makes attaching images tedious like the prusa forum) is probably not the most efficient way of doing things.  There are thousands of tutorials out there, both web pages and on youtube.  Some of them are even focused on using it for 3d printing.

With another hour of flailing about, I got the 3D-print tab to be visible.  I now find I have 778 non-manifold edges.  I have no idea what to do with this information.

Is there a better platform to conduct these discussion, since I suspect Prusa people don't care about this.

Make them manifold. Slicers really really don’t like non manifold geometry. Sounds like you have much to learn if you want to.

Not sure if there are any specific blender forums, probably are, there’s a tonne of tutorials. I started by watching a few and then just trying modelling and letting my mistakes teach me what not to do, but everyone learns in different ways. All depends on if you thing the effort is worth it for yourself.
