I just assembled my kit on Sunday, and it worked fine. I did about 3-4 test prints. Today, I switched it on, and after the bootloader, the screen goes black and flickers.
On Reddit, I saw someone else having the same issue and mentioning it being cold.
Today was also a cooler day, and on Sunday, when I first booted and printed, it was about 30°C.
So, I took a hairdryer and held it to the screen and the back cover to heat-soak it a bit. After flipping the power switch, it booted up just fine and is printing again. After I let it cool down while being turned off, I had the black screen again when I turned it back on.
This suggests there might be a faulty soldering point on the LCD board. I still need to contact support about it, but maybe someone else with the same issue can try this to confirm.

i was have similar problem....whit firmware 6.3.2... only slow refresh rate in configuration menu work for me...
later prusa send to me flat cable in warranty...
but nothing is change. maybe i have fix whit this... some check:
checking ground and better tightening off fastom in a LCD
change power cable and remove any multiple plug socket
moved my wifi extender in other position away from printer
i was reset whit old firmware 6.3.1 and later ota update whit prusa connect
now work good.... but i dont know if is some ground elettromagnetic interference ...
i dont know why firmware 6.3.1 he doesn't seem to have this problem....

I have already contacted technical support about this issue 2 times. - The problem is still not fixed.!!!
Today they told me to change the display refresh rate to : low
It's starting to annoy me a bit already. 😭

try check ground connections and power cable.... remove any multiple plug socket... for me this is problem....tightening fastom of lcd.....

Changing to Low flashing solving my problem with flashing/grey screen. But I must unplug data cable and connect it away from other cables. I asked why is not default low flashing. They told me that low flashing cause flashing problem for most users. But solving gray /flashing screen by submerged settings is not very good idea. It takes me about two hours :-/

Since yesterday i have the same problem 🙁
I found out that the problem goes away when the device has reached operating temperature. No loose contact.

Same problem here, Core One factory assembled, firmware 6.3.3 . Once a print is started, it goes on until the end even when the screen is flashing or black. Therefore the problem only affects the display, not the motherboard or power supply. PrusaConnect and PrusaLink are not affected, either. The camera continues working, too.
- Disconnecting and reconnecting the cable and ground at the display and at the motherboard ends makes no difference.
- I still don't know for sure if it is a problem with the USB stick. Sometimes switching to a Sandisk USB stick or switching back to the Prusa USB stick appears to help temporarily, but once the screen has started flashing, usually it makes no difference. I don't know if the problem could be a loose contact in the USB socket or PC board of the display, but I cannot exclude it. The USB socket on the display does feel flimsy.
- Changed the power cable and switched to a different power outlet, no difference. It seems unlikely to be a problem with the power cable. As mentioned above, the printer continues to print correctly even when the display is flashing or off.
- Ambient temperature seems to make no difference. The screen starts flashing shortly after boot up, with ambient temperatures as cold as 15 C and as warm as 28 C.

for me isent the printer... isent display but some elettrical interference... now i try add EMI filter.. all work whit high refresh rate....
I will monitor the situation for a few days and let you know.

Yeah I was in the same boat. Black/white screen right from the moment it loaded. In a moment of pure frustration I yanked the thing off the front and pulled out the ribbon cable, (with the unit on... I know, i know) and smashed it back in. It worked for 2-3 seconds so I navigated to settings... Yank, replace, navigate to hardware, yank, replace, navigate to -- you get the point. Eventually get low refresh.
It worked. And the unit is printing. Should you do it?

Same problem with my new MK4S. Maybe should resolve change setting with flash to low in settings but i can't get it throuhg black flashing screen. Support told me that it depends on enviroment where printer take place. I will try reconect data cable straight from printer to display away from other cables. Maybe this should be better to get on this setting on printer.

next day whit EMI FILTER and the printer work perfect.... better motor sound and no problems whit display... i hope prusa study for use this filter in all printer...

Crazy! It's like @stefano-3 said: it's an EMI problem with the power outlet that leads to interferences with the ribbon cable for the display unit. Maybe the ribbon cable should be shielded.
I changed the power outlet and plugged in an Eve Energy homekit plug I had laying around (that itself obviously filters some EMI), and the display is working again. I could then go to the settings to set the refresh rate to low, just in case. Now it seems that everything is working properly. Additionally, I can now monitor the power consumption of the CoreOne via Homekit 😉
I have a pre-assembled Core One, so I don't now where the ribbon cable runs along. Maybe I'll open the printer and add a shield (with aluminum foil connected to ground) by myself.
By the way: it's obviously not a firmware issue - I tried older firmwares with the same problem. I'm now running the newest firmware.

I'm having this issue too, printer boots fine and then screen cuts out when the menu should load, flashes every 5 seconds or so and repeats. Occasionally shows a corrupt image and then restarts again. Support asked me to re seat the grey ribbon cable, earth and the orange ribbon on the board itself, this worked for one job and is now broken again... I have about 15 hours on the printer and now cant do anything (prints dont seem to start over connect either) waiting to speak to support again but I think something is clearly broken. There's no way i can get to the settings menu and set it low refresh.

Same issue here, I tried downgrading the firmware to 6.3.2 but my screen is still black and sometimes flickers. No way to get into menus or anything... I'm lost. Checked the connections as well but all is ok.

Spoke to support yesterday and they are sending me a new screen and cables.
After reading some earlier posts about bad soldering I decided to heat the screen up with a hair dryer for 30 seconds. This made the screen work for about 15 minutes which was enough to get my print started. It completed fine despite the screen blacking out the rest of the time. Will report back when the new screen arrives

noyhing to do.... problem is back... i have check all cables... all elettric cables in the home... add emi filter.... but if i try high refresh rate ... the problem come back,,,
try 3 old firmware .... when is cold down the problem come back.... now i try contact support....

I have the same problem. After 3 months of waiting for the kit, the printer was not usable after 3 weeks. I got in touch with Prusa and they said a new display would be sent out the next morning. That was 5 (working-) days ago and nothing pappend. No shipping notification. No confirmation email. No nothing...
Yesterday I got on the chat again and asked if something went wrong. The person on the other end told me that the display will be sent within the next 3 days... I´m so disapointed in Prusa!
I was told they have a great customer service. I decided against a Bambu Labs printer to 'support the cause' and 'invest in the community'. Right now I´m regretting that decision. I´m afraid of sending it back because I don´t know how much of a hassle it will be. But if something else happens (the display was not my first issue with it) it has to go. I´m fed up

I had the same issue today as others have described here - screen would go black after the bootloader screen and would occasionally flicker but stayed black 99% of the time. Tried re-flashing latest firmware via Prusa Connect and checking ribbon cables, but that didn't change anything. Removing the Prusa USB drive didn't seem to have an effect for me either. After doing a bunch of reading on the forums/Reddit while the printer sat there on, I eventually tried one more restart and it seems to be working now, even after subsequent power cycles. Going to let it cool down and re-test as I am wondering if it could be temperature related as suspected by others here.
Finished kit assembly ~5 days ago and just started having issues this morning. Planning to reach out to support if/when I see it again.

I have the same issue as others describe. In my case, I turn off the power and reconnect the orange head cable on the back of LCD. That fix it. I also contacted the online service. They gave me another solution that reconnect the goldish cables under the LCD cover (tutorial). I'll try it if the issue happens again.
