This is a very good thing, but please remind the people in product development that the official build instructions for the enclosure include moving the xLCD as well... In order for this product to make sense, we also need a quick release for the xLCD cable. Thanks to the quick release nuts in the enclosure, the PSU has always been the smaller issue of the two.

+1, would like to see something official for the xlcd as well. Here's an unofficial way to do it, credits to @bluex_904957 :

Yeah, got it a while ago and biggest negative is that the connector did not fully snap onto PSU holder. It's bit frustrating and I might have to add something to wedge so it did not get loose when I unplug the connectors.

It will snap into place but it is hard to do and takes a bit of work to get it locked in.  The locking tabs push in when they go through the hole but don't fully expand back out once they are on the other side.

If you push it  through the hole and get one side snapped into place, can wiggle the connector and  use a small screw driver to gently push the tab into place so both sides are locked in.     It is a tight fit but does work.

Tried everything, I’ll take picture tomorrow and post it.

See red circle where the "snap in" was off. If you try to plug in, it came out. I just need something to wedge in between so that it can lock it in.

This is exactly what my connector was doing.

The small step on the tab needs to be on the other side of the plate so it locks into place.  You need to take a small screw driver and press the tab inwards towards the connector and slightly down.  This will allow the small step on the tab to go under the plate and hold the connector in place.   The tab should look exactly like the other side once in is correctly in place.

I ordered my enclosure prior to the release of the MK4 PSU adapter, at the time it was all they had. Now, learning I wasted $47 plus shipping, I'd like to simply MAKE it work. Anyone have a part number (from anywhere) for the board connector and the round ins so I can add the ground? Thanks

RE: PSU Cable Quick-release for Original Prusa Enclosure (MK4)

I recently purchased a MK4 printer and enclosure.  Assembled the printer first and ran some parts I needed.  The printer instructions were great.  Now to the enclosure, I found I had to undue many aspects of the printer and mentally anticipate which add-ons may affect the enclosure install in order to avoid construction something only to have to immediately undue it.  I am stumped what the PSU quick connect kit bought me, the printer is still tethered to the enclosure via the LCD cables.   I had anticipated an enclosure which basically sat over the printer allowing use of the enclosure or not.  The enclosure and printer modifications are cumbersome to say the least.

RE:

PSU Quick Release connector is a good idea; however, unless Prusa is saying with just PSU quick connect, that their PSU dies often and needs to be replaced, This is only half of the solution.

If the point of the PSU quick connect was to allow easy removal of the Printer from the enclosure (the PSU is already easily removable from the window), then where is the LCD quick connect?

By default (no quick connects), you can remove the PSU via a small window, but to remove the LCD screen, you need to cut a zip tie, unscrew the screen from the enclosure, and unplug cables from the LCD in hopes of not damaging the connection.

So my question is - what is the point of PSU quick connect ???

I left the LCD attached to the printer, so for me the "point" of the PSU quick connect is to not have to pull the enclosure away from the wall and manipulate the PSU through the cutout.  I can simply disconnect the PSU and remove the printer (with the LCD attached).

But I agree... The PSU quick release is only "half the solution" when the LCD is mounted on the enclosure.  I would like Prusa to provide a quick-connect kit for the LCD, too.

I am considering to make a hatch in the bottom of the cabinet and mount my lcd screen with neodym magnets, if they do not interfere with the electronics. Else I will print some detachable hooks or something. Just double sided tape and the magnets should stay if you care to remove the screen sliding it sideways.  Though I havent assembled my cabinet yet, this might interfere with the plan.
