Settings for CarbonX ezpc+cf

Does anyone have settings for this filament?  CarbonX EZPC+CF by 3DXTech.   The settings for Prusa PC blend CF generate what looks like over extruded results, some stringing and blobs.  Printed at 265 with another set of settings for a different PC+CF, better but still rough.  Printed both .25 and .3 layer height per their recommendation to print at least .25 layer heigh , with diamond tipped .4 nozzle.    Checked with CarbonX 3DXTech; no data there.  Waiting for Prusament PC +CF to be in stock.  Prints beautifully as does the PC natural.  Both out of stock.

RE: Settings for CarbonX ezpc+cf

I printed a few parts with this filament last week.  I used a nozzle temp of 280C, and a bed temp of 100C for the first layer, increasing to 110C for subsequent layers.  I used an Undertaker 0.4mm tungsten carbide nozzle from West3d and 0.2mm layer height.  Doubtless these settings could be improved upon but they worked for me.

Thank you for the reply.  Did you use the Prusa Slicer settings for PC?  My .2mm layer  were not very good.  Recommended .25, even .3 still had some blobs and stringing.  I'm wondering if you changed flow or extrusion or anything else.

RE: Settings for CarbonX ezpc+cf

We started printing with it since the prusament PC+CF is never in stock. We tried printing at 285 nozzle (tungsten carbide) 110 bed. At 285 on the nozzle there was a substantial build up on the nozzle for a 27h print and the overall finish was ruff. Now we print at 275, the build up is not a problem but the overall finish stay a little ruff compared to the prusament pc cf. At 275 on the nozzle the layer bounding is great, we broke the printed parts and there was no delamination. We use 0.99 extrusion multiplier with prusaslicer 2.6.

what we struggle with is the fact that our part once released are a little warped. By comparison we have zero warping with prusament pc cf. We use Satin sheet cleaned with 99% IPA, brim 5mm, slowed speed for first layer and not much draft from ambient air.

We are still tweaking the parameters, I'll keep posting here if we get result comparable result to prusament PC CF.

RE:

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply.   Prusament PC_Cf prints so nicely, the CarbonX is quite rough by comparison.  It is not workable for me unless I can smooth it out more. Eagerly awaiting a new batch of Prusament PC-CF.  I don't think they can make too much, the natural is also a wonderful filament; also out of stock.  That's my only complaint with Prusa, love the printer.  The MK4 sounds like another step forward.

As an aside, I've very good results printing Prusament PC_Cf and PC natural on the PEI sheet with MagiGoo for PC.  Easy to clean the sheet with IPA, nice release

I started with the PC settings in Prusaslicer, changed the temps to what I mentioned above.  I hadn't realized they recommended a thicker layer height.  I did indeed have some blobbing at the nozzle, which mostly went away once I got the new TC nozzle adjusted (I had my Z offset too low initially so it was dragging a little), but not completely.  I only had a few small parts to print; nothing like the 27 hour print that was mentioned.  I needed sheet stops for my Voron 2.4 and since they are in contact with the heatbed, I wanted something with higher temp resistance than the ASA the rest of the printer uses.  While I was at it, I printed a couple of new cooling fan shrouds for my Bear.  There is a slightly rougher surface texture to the parts which I assume is due to the CF.  I have no experience with any other PC or CF filament so I have nothing to compare with.
