Z Adjust - Newbie
Hello there, I am new to Prusa environment but very familiar with 3D printing... I am helping out a friend, but I am stuck. This is the MK3S kit. Everything works as it should but, not quite. I have done the Z calibration for each bed sheet (smooth and textured), but when I go to print (using simplify 3d, because that's what he uses), it seems that the Z adjust didn't take. While the print starts, I can go to Live Z adjust, and have to input the same value of, in this case, -1.200mm, on top of the the already showing -1.200mm? I must be doing something wrong, no? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! THANK YOU in advance.
RE: Z Adjust - Newbie
I have just tried with SuperSlicer and, as expected, it yield the same result...Z super far away from the bed!?

RE: Z Adjust - Newbie
Are you running the live adjust z routine built into the printer’s LCD menus?

Once completed the value should not change.
For fine tuning you can move from the built-in calibration routine to Jeff Jordan’s excellent ’Life Adjust Z - my way’ process.
Have you tried printing any of the pre-sliced (gcode file) objects included on the SD card that shipped with the printer? What was the result?
RE: Z Adjust - Newbie
Thank you for the reply. I was on live chat with Prusa for over 1 hour trying to figure this out... I am building this printer for a friend and he wants to continue using Simplify 3D... So after stumping with tech support, I was wondering if my Starting gcode was somehow causing this issue, even though nothing looked suspicious. Well, bingo. I printed something from the SD card, already sliced and it worked! I then sliced something with PrusaSlicer (I use SuperSlicer for my Vorons) and that worked. Last step was copy the gcode from PS to S3D...and with a few tweaks, it is all working as it should!!!
Thank you again for taking the time!!
