Deteriorating nozzle temperature correctness leading to Err: MINTEMP error
Hi,
I got my Prusa Kit 14 days ago, assembled it without problems and was able to print just fine for several days. However recently I get the dreaded
Err: MINTEMP
error when I switch on the printer.
My room temperature is at ~ 22 °C, bed temperature is correctly shown at 22 °C. However, my nozzle temperature shows 14 °C which is under the minimum of 16 °C - so I get this error.
If I touch the nozzle for a while with my finger I can raise the temperature to 16 °C, so I can at least start the print. The 'calibration' of the temperature seems to be deteriorating over the last few day.
Anyway, I am pretty sure that is not how it is supposed to be. What can I do to get a correct nozzle temperature? Is this a hardware fault?
Yes, I ran the temperature calibration already.
Please help me - best regards
Carsten

That sounds like a bad thermistor.

Did you find out how to fix this issue? My mk3 does the same thing: nozzle temperature is showing approximately 8C below room temperature and I have to warm it up with my finder when starting from cold to get around MINTEMP error.
I'm wondering if the this is affecting the temperature during printing also - my PLA prints have more stringing than I think is normal.

You want to find the root cause, but assuming it doesn't throw the MINTEMP error until you issue a nozzle warmup command, a temporary work-around might be to move the nozzle above the heated bed on startup.
