Z position tops out after print or parking location
New to the MINI+ and just started printing some taller models. I've noticed that the print head attempts to park after a print is completed much higher than the z-axis can accommodate. I assumed there was a sensor at the top end of the z-axis that would cause the motor to stop, but the grinding that I just heard pretty much negates that possibility.
I manually lowered the head a little bit through the screen. I then did a filament change before the next print. The first step it runs is to "park" the print head, and it does so by moving the z-axis up. It topped out again, grinding the motor for a few seconds and then finally stopped.
This doesn't seem like normal behavior, hoping someone has some insight.
One note, the printer does successfully re-calibrate prior to the print as it moves to the bed, and all my prints have been fantastic!
Thanks
Stephen

This *is* normal behavior. The printer has no direct information where the print head is in space as you may have moved it manually. So it moves the Z-axis up, to be safe. When it hits the top, that stuttering behavior is normal and expected, no reason to be concerned.

Great, thank you for the response. At least that's some peace of mind that it's not going to ruin the printer.
