Gaps in extrusion during Z-height calibration..

Hi all, I recently gave my mini+ an overhaul as it was making clicking noises during printing and was suffering from a lot of stringing. I got it from an ex print farm so knew it was a bit rough. So I ordered some parts to refurb it. Work carried out includes:

• disassembly of extruder with new bearings, cleaned the gears and the filament drive, replaced the idler spring and reassembled
• fit the IR filament sensor
• new heatbreak, new heatblock, new nozzle, new ptfe, both fans replaced
• x-axis and y-axis belts changed, bearings cleaned and re-greased

Once is was all fitted I ran the Z calibration test it was a bit off, in this picture I'm at -1.1mm adjustment. The problem is the extrusion has gaps in it, it's not a smooth line. I'm wondering what is causing this, as you can see it won't fill in the rectangle section properly, and there are breaks in all the the lines leading up to that. I feel like I've just wasted a ton of money on parts now.

Any help would be appreciated

RE: Gaps in extrusion during Z-height calibration..

1. what kind of filament is it?
2. did you dry the filament?
3. check idler screw in the extruder and if there are any extra friction when pulling a filament from the spool (extruder may just not be able to grab the filament well enough to be able to pull it
4. did you inspect the PTFE tube between the extuder and the hotend? if it is worn out it can cause filament to stuck inside and it ends in various issues in extruding/retracting.
5. also check if the PTFE and the hotend are well fit.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
