What Does "Including Spool" Mean in the Sliced Info Output?

Whenever one slices something in PrusaSlicer it gives a mass estimate of how much filament will be used up. My question is what does the "including spool" mean exactly?:

Used Filament (g)        3.67 (204.67)

        (including spool)

Best Answer by Michaël Fortin:

It's actually a very useful tool to have when nearing the end of a spool:

It's the sum of the weight of the spool and the weight of the filament required for the print. This means that if you keep a kitchen scale handy, you can weigh your spool before a print and compare the reading with the "including spool" value in the slicer. If the spool weighs more than that number, you have enough filament to print the object. If not, you'll have to perform a filament change at some point during the print.

Of course, for this feature to work, you must have the proper weight specified in Filament Settings > Filament > Spool Weight for each filament you're using. What should be put there is the weight of an empty spool, NOT the weight of the full spool (which would make the "including spool" value meaningless).

On some spools, the "empty" spool weight is printed on it directly, which is super useful.

Prusament profiles already have a weight specified because Prusa knows the weight of the spools they use. For filament I buy, I create one profile per filament type/brand and either transcribe the official weight value from the spool or weigh an empty one when possible.

I think they meant spool's gram is on bracket "( )" as it meant spool gram = 204.67.

It's just a guess. *shrug*

It means the weight of the spool, for example on average my Hatchbox spools weigh 235 grams
