Setting up variable layer height in more specific way?
Variable layer height setting is quite hard to use. You have to draw some shape by mouse.
I need quite specific setting: up to some height it should be one layer height, and above that height another layer height.
Can adaptive layer height be set by simply typing in a numbers?

Simple. Right-click on your model, and add a Height Range Modifier. Set the start and end position and adjust the layer height. You can have multiple modifiers per model, and they can do other stuff besides changing layer height.

Just to be clear the method Fuchsr mentions is not variable layer height. It is using height range modifiers to set specific print layer heights at specific heights on the model. This gives you way more control but is a different method and while its good for some things it doesn't have a smooth transition from one layer height to another like VLH does. Not unless you manually add more height range modifiers with intermediate layer heights defined.
There is no way to do what you ask via the VLH tool.

Thanks for clarifying, yes, it could have been misunderstood as a non-existing feature of variable layer height.

For clear transitions like that, use height range modifiers, whereas — as neophyl pointed out— you want smooth transitions, go with variable layer height.

@pedja
In very old versions "Slic3r for example", you would enter the information the way you mention. To get that result now you would do as Fuchsr mentioned, however you can use both VLH and HRM in conjunction to smooth a transition if needed, and you have a further level of control by adjusting the Layer height limits in Printer Settings if you need.

Thanks, this worked fine. It has some user interface glitches but works exactly as I wish.
