Honeycomb rotated by 90°

If I choose honeycomb infill the honeycomb is made as in the picture. To have a torsion stiff wing I would have to rotated the honeycomb by 90°.

Is such a rotation of the infill possible to achieve an infill like in a composite airwing?

thanks

RE:

Consider cubic which I believe will add strength in the zaxis  direction. Caveat is I haven’t tested it.

Also gyroid will print a fill more suited to z-axis strength

To answer your original question, yes, it is possible to manually set the infill angle. I’m not at my computer at the moment so can’t point you at the specific setting but PS has a built in search function you can use to find it.

Print Settings→Infill→Advanced→Fill Angle. You have to be in Advanced or Expert mode to see it.

...but 3D Honeycomb might suit you better.

RE:

I got the impression the Op wants to orient the honeycomb sideways - but I could be wrong and yes a 3d honeycomb is a good option

Sorry my wording, yes the question was about orienting sideways. The Fill Angle Parameter only changes the angle around the Z-axes. Actually Rectilinear would be my favored infill to have max. torsion stiffness in the wing.

I think that could be a nice feature request?

Or is there a feature like in this video with cura (see at 16:30):

With this feature I could add not just sideways rectilinear infill but also an aligned rectilinear infill for the Carbon-wingbar.

Cubic and 3D honeycomb are the infills to use for stiffness Imo and gyroid for resilience.
