grid support looks different

Hi there,

I am working on a larger print and have determined to use Grid as my support pattern.

I have used it many times in the past but suddenly it has changed in appearance and structure. I am using Prusaslicer 2.9.0

Can someone explain why it looks like a vertical zig zag pattern? Did I accidently enable this, how do change back to solid wall grid support? See pictures

thanks

Does it look like this in the slicer preview? As usual, it's always best to upload a zip compressed 3mf project file so we can see all your settings.

In the preview it doesn't look like that. I will upload a 3mf later this afternoon. Thanks

I experimented a bit more.

I thought mazbe the PETG profile I was using was just bad.

I changed filament to PLA and switch to a PLA profile but the problem with the funky looking support is persistent.

I noticed that in Print Settings under Advance the extrusion width for supports is set to .35mm - narrower than the nozzle diameter. could that be it?

I will test and report back.

I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this before, maybe I am the only one who cares but it is fixed.

The extrusion width for supports should by default be set to 0. When it is set to 0 the system just uses the default extrusion width.

#fixed
