RE: Update...(Kind of)

I ended up paying 323€ (including a tad below 20€ for shipping and Paypal fees, and after deduction of the 130€ down payment). That's for a bare-bones 4-tool package; I will wait and see before I decide on additional nozzle diameters. Oh, and for the ugly T-shirt of course.

Should have mentioned that these were net prices excl. VAT.

There's only one thing that I don't like. Why they put in this ugly bracket for the toolholders? Isn't anyone else bothered by this? Nozzle sizes might be on .4 because one wants to avoid the same issues as with the early XLs?

Tried to load the website but didn’t have the patience to hang around long enough to let it load… but on those prices. Wasn’t it meant to the 250 for the head and 35 per tool. So 390. But sounds like they’re haven’t managed to maintain that. Not too far off it.

Ooof! Not sure what to make of this…I know visibility was a big factor for you @jurgen-7 :

Looks like we lose 15 mm on Y axis, and 2 on X axis.

Those were very early ballpark targets. At FormNext they announced 499 for the four-tool and 699 for the eight-tool version -- same numbers in USD excl. tax & duties or EUR incl. VAT, I believe.

The actual prices are pretty exactly that. The major setback is that you only get 0.4 mm nozzles as part of the packages, so those who wanted other diameters right away had to pay extra for additional nozzles.

Hmpf -- that looks very different from what they advertised. Bait & switch? Where was that photo published?

Dunno the source, I pinched it off Discord so take with a pinch of salt for now.

I think that is all the top front profile in the ‘included parts’ list…I think thats all one piece.

so, someone else IS concerned :D. This is from Bondtechs website. This part replaces the front-top beam of the frame.

Looking closely at the recent "INDX Update" Youtube videos from Prusa, that ugly fence indeed seems to be hiding behind the closed printer door. 🙁

Darn. I can kind of get it that they may have realized, late in the game, that the slender mounting bar wobbles too much and they need a wider support base for reliable operation. But can't they at least hire an industrial designer to make sure the new part does not look like shit?

Maybe he was in the 25% that got laid off !

That was exactly my first thought, Bondtech are saying its Prusas design, nothing to do with them. If it's not needed on the Dev kit, why is it needed on the C1?
I can see there being quite a bit of backlash online about this. Be interesting to see what Prusa do.

Prusa are saying it improves reliability a lot, but surely there are more attractive and less visually obstructive ways to do that.
