BRAND NEW OUT OF THE BOX PRINTER
I am completely new to 3D printing however I have programmed G code for other CNC machines. We bought the Core One as a gift for our kids and after setting it up we had no problem with the first day of prints having fun. It then told us there was a new firmware and we updated it....since then we've had nothing but issues. It was literally a Christmas present and we now are baffled as to how a firmware update could do this. We noticed with the new firmware that we had to adjust belt tensioning all of sudden when before it was running fine. Since the firmware update now we are getting spaghetti half way into prints...need help please.

when spaghetti happens, does the print detach from the build plate?
Often, the cause of prints, detaching from the build plate is caused by contamination of the build plate surface, this can be caused by mis handling the build plate, when removing models and when working on the printer.
I find that taking the build plate to the kitchen sink, and washing it with HOT WATER and dish soap, then rinsing with hot water, and drying immediately with plain paper towels (Keeping your hands and fingers to the edges of the build plate), (make sure your dish sponge is new and not greasy! ) often restores adhesion.
For PLA Prints, raising the build plate temperature to 70C often also helps.

As @joantabb says, a common problem with sudden degredation of a new printer, especially with children involved, is print-sheet cleanliness. If problems persist after cleaning show us pictures of the problem including the underside of a failed print.
