~20 mm extrusions missing randomly on outer shell
Hello,
I was printing this cylinder with a bottom. During the print, the printer seems to leave out on multiple occasions a few millimeters of extrusion, as you can see in the picture.
At first, I thought it was due to my printing settings, but I did a second print (the one in the pictures) with the normal settings, just a few more walls, top and bottom layers and a higher infill percentage.
This happened also on the inside of the cylinder and does not depend on the type of filament because I tried two different filaments (PLA) with which both it happened.
I now printed a smaller version (in grey) of the same cylinder with the same settings and as you can see in the pictures, this problem did not occur. I didn't change anything but the size and the filament, but it is still PLA.
I have no idea what this is causing, because on normal or smaller prints, this is not happening. This print is almost maxing out the print volume of the Core One.
If you have any tips or ideas what I could try out, I would be very grateful!
RE: ~20 mm extrusions missing randomly on outer shell
This is a partial clog caused by heat creep. The PLA gets soft in the heatbreak and blocks extrusion until pressure builds up and pushes it through. Are you printing with the vent open? If not, it needs to be open. If it's already open either try it with the door open or lower the nozzle temperature 5-10C

Thanks for your answer!
The vent was open. Why lower the temperature? Shouldn't a higher temp. make the PLA more "fluidable" and therefore less able to clog the nozzle?

I'm betting it's: lower nozzle temp -> lower heatbreak temp -> no partial clogs.
You can also put heatbreak temp to the bottom corner of the screen, and check that it's not getting dangerously high during the prints.

Ah okay. That makes sense. Thank you!
