Frustration with Prusa Communication

Dear All,

Just want to share my frustration with the generell prusa Communication regarding the CoreOne availability

It's the middle of January (15th) and still no real update on shipping and availability. We all know that Prusa had problems with availability in the past and I can't see a reason why they did not learn from that experience. If you present a product it should be readily available within the given timeframe and not a guessing game for possible buyers.

I love my MK4s, which I bought on cyber Friday,  with the promise an upgrade will be available in march 2025.

I doubt that now and slowly I start regretting not buying the one printer from far east.

Best wishes

Sascha

If you know all of this going in to it, why make a big deal about it? It’s a FDM printer, not some life saving cure for cancer.

You know how this works. You have a timeframe. Cancel your order and purchase your printer from the company in the far east if you’re that upset. Just please stop being a drama queen about it.

I've been a Prusa guy for a while now. They always seem slow out of the gate, but will indeed catch up and routinely get ahead of initial forecasts.

Like Razor, if you can't wait, buy the Bambu. I will wait because in the meantime my MK4S is awesome and have yet regretted waiting on a Prusa.

RE: Frustration with Prusa Communication

Hi everyone,

I want to share my thoughts on this topic because I believe the original complaint is entirely legitimate. Telling someone, "if you don’t like it, leave" is not only an invalid argument but also an insult to our intelligence and the purpose of this forum, which is to share experiences and improve as a community.

The issue here is not just the delay, but the lack of clear communication. Prusa’s announcement, stating that shipments would begin "starting in January," is vague and unprofessional. It’s a way of avoiding commitment to a specific date while still creating expectations. When these expectations are not met, they inevitably affect customer trust.

That being said, I also want to make it clear that I am fully aware of the challenges involved in developing a new printer and the tremendous effort Prusa has made. Their contribution to the 3D printing community is undeniable, and many of us deeply value what they bring to the table. That’s precisely why these criticisms should be seen as constructive. If we complain, it’s because we care. Because we want Prusa to continue being a reference not only for the quality of its products but also for its relationship with its users.

I hope the company takes this feedback into account and prioritizes clearer, more transparent communication in the future. Something as simple as regular updates or an official statement could have avoided much of this frustration.

Best regards.

Hi,

I can wait but do not understand that a company I respect has this trouble to learn from its previous failures.

I did buy European because the ideas and values I respect are shared by this and other companies.

But I see troubles ahead for keeping up with the competition if they go on like this.

Best wishes

Sascha

RE:

Hello, a couple of days ago they added to the Core One purchase page that the processing date for orders placed now will be from March, so it can be inferred that those of us who have placed the order before will receive our printer before that date. There is no new information about the upgrade kit from mk4s, but it is the normal situation when you make a pre-purchase of a product that is not yet on the market. It is a leap of faith subject to change

Just had a live chat with the Prusa help, l ordered  within days of launch and have been told that the orders have been “Incredible “ and they had thousands ready on that day but still not enough, and he say it looks like they were right about the Core One and they will be working hard to catch up☹️

Prusa has historically had little trouble selling every printer they can make, and usually there has been a waiting list/lead time.  Therefore, they don't have much incentive to send printers which could otherwise have been sold to paying customers, to influencers in an effort to generate additional sales of printers they usually can't make fast enough anyway.  Mostly it would just annoy loyal customers who got their orders in right away, to have to watch some youtuber who got put to the head of the line, while everybody else is still waiting for theirs.

Yes l agree that Prusa printers are fantastic and worth every penny l also understand manufacturing/time scales having had a toolmaking business for 30 years🫣
But wouldn’t it be great to watch the serious guys show us the capabilities while we wait?

Youtubers aren't serious users, they are entertainers.  Serious users mostly make dull looking functional parts.  It's basically a Mk4/XL print head in a box - hard to see into and no truly new capabilities - yes some speed changes but a print big enough for that to be noticeable is still going to take hours - yes some marginal improvements in accuracy and tolerance, some improvements in tricky material handling so:  What would a serious user youtuber show?

Er, it's in a box and takes less bench space; that's ten seconds gone, not really enough for a short.

RE: Frustration with Prusa Communication

Patience is a Virtue

In a world where we are used to consuming things at lightning speed, we’ve become accustomed to ordering something and having it delivered within one or two days. It’s hard to receive updates like: Shipping starts in January, new orders expected around March, kits anticipated in March as well, and information about filters and the MMU3 will be shared when ready.

In my opinion, for most of us, waiting isn’t the main issue. However, one thing is clear: Prusa could definitely be more precise about the delays. I don’t believe they withhold information because they don’t care or don’t have any idea. I think they might prefer giving approximate timelines so people won’t say, “You told me it would ship yesterday, and it didn’t.” Nowadays, people are extremely impatient and often fail to consider the challenges and setbacks companies face.

What I don’t understand is the lack of information about filtration, the integration of the MMU3 (we know it’s compatible, but the shop doesn’t offer the Core One option in the selection list), and the absence of any details about availability.

This does bother me, but the only thing I can do is wait because I know it won’t make things go faster to ask about it every day. People should understand that and stop doing it.

Perhaps when customer service grows tired of answering countless questions about precise dates, they’ll either start handling things differently—or they won’t.

RE: Frustration with Prusa Communication

When their "crappy" customer service tanks their printer sales, things will change. Until then, we will wait in the que and get a printer when it's available. It's the way it's been for a long time. I will wait because I don't want a Bambu. I have a hard time understanding what we're entitled to.

Hi

Thank you for you all for the discussion.

I still stand with my decision for my Prusa Printer but I see most of the interested people turn into the far east direction and these people will not come back easily and in the long run this will threaten the company

Communication isn't so complicated and putting some more info out there - 19th of November is 2 Months ago - would keep costumers less frustrated or worse thinking that there is some bigger problem with the printer

Best wishes

Sascha

RE:

It doesn't surprise me when new customers go for the cheapest good option.  But the very cause of your grief is the result of very high demand, so we know there are plenty of folks choosing Prusa, both new and returning customers.  I shake my head every time folks get in a twist over this stuff.

Also,  I doubt we have to fret over whether there is "some bigger problem with the printer" because it is literally the same very reliable printer reoriented to core xy.

Patience, friends, is indeed a virtue.
