Any reason not to use a switched UPS outlet, and UPS VA sizing…

Will using the switched outlet on an UPS to power on/off my Core One be bad for the unit in any way? And will a 700va UPS be adequate for momentary power flickers that typically happen during Florida thunderstorms? Don’t intend to keep printing for hours during any outages, only saving a print during a momentary flicker. Thanks.

Given that the power off/on switch does exactly the same thing, I do not see why this would make a difference and, if you search im other posts in the forum you will see that there a a lot of us doing exactly that to remotely turn on/off the printer with all kinds of switchable outlets.

w/r to the wattage needed, I will let someone else answer that as I can't...
