First Enclosure units are on the way!
Hi,
I'm glad to announce, that the first Enclosure units left Prusa factory today. As explained in the email (check you inboxes/spams), you will now receive the Enclosure without add-ons. I'm sorry about this, but there are delays with almost everything and we didn't want to postpone the shipment any longer. All add-ons will be sent to you later and the cost of extra shipment will be covered by Prusa.
Before your enclosure arrives, you can feast your eyes on the brand new assembly manual 🙂 The package includes all parts and Allen key for the assembly of the Enclosure. For the printer preparation you need to get pliers and Phillips screwdriver PH1 (both were part of the printer package) and few more things.

Having a little sit down and some tucker before adding the doors and handles and other bits and pieces.
As mentioned in another post, I quite like it. It's nicely built. Quite substantial and you can see why it cost a few bucks. Although I had an issue with the older silver power supply, I imagine if you've got a black one, you'll have no worries.

@carl-g, could you please expand on the issue with the silver PSU? From the photo it looks to have worked as intended?
@antonio, is the upgrade comment specific to the PSU quick connector?

I wish I'd seen that earlier. I certainly didn't read that prior to preordering.
That reads to me as if it applies only to the quick release PSU option, which I'm not bothered about.

The packaging is superior. Absolute perfect condition. Everything is cushioned and separated. I think the metal extrusions could survive much less padding, but I'm not complaining other than the fact that the vast amounts of non-recyclable packaging filled up my trash can.

I also thought the comment referred to the PSU quick connect option requiring the black power supply. I'm not interesting the PSU quick connect, so why would I replace my working PSU with a new black one? However, rereading it, it could mean either.
I started a new discussion in the assembly section of the forum. Someone else had similar issues. Basically, it's doable, just a pain.

Hi, thanks for the review 🙂 All packages are drop-tested and optimized before leaving the company. With thinner padding there was a risk that the profiles will punch a hole through the package if dropped during the transport.
Regarding the black vs silver PSU. The enclosure is prepared for both, we will add it to the instructions within few days. The documentation will be gradually extended to cover all the possible scenarios.
Only if you want to get the quick-release cable, then you need the black PSU.

I might chat with them too. Been anxious to receive my shipping notification as I have some little children who like to put their fingers in places they shouldn't and the enclosure is part of my plan to reduce that risk.

Any update on the instructions for the silver PSU? I had got to that point in the build instructions before realizing there were no instructions for the silver PSU yet (yeah the intial part on disassembling the printer did not give me a clue), I have an idea on how to continue but don't want to mess anything up so waiting on the official document. I would have also thought that there would have been more silver PSU than black ones out there.

@osmoses do you mind saying when you made your order? I am trying to get a better idea of when mine might arrive. From what I can tell the most recent order that I see delivered is from May 05.

I had made my order May 5th
