Core One L VFAs

Hello everyone. New Core One L. Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 Black, calibrated.

I'm new to the Prusa ecosystem - where do I start on the road to improve this? VFA tower ran with 40 -> 250 mm/s.

Second test, same VFA tower, but with 80 mm/s starting speed and 280 mm/s end speed, with 20 increments. Posting side by side with the first one.

All the test prints were done via OrcaSlicer nightly build 2.4.0.

GPT then suggested i do cylinders at various speeds, keeping the same 8k accel. From here on it gets worse:

100mm/s, 160mm/s, 220mm/s, side by side. I could gear strange noises as the the toolhead was doing the circular motions. Sort of like grinding, but more acute with the circular motion than the previous VFA towers. With the VFA tower, I could only hear that noise briefly on X/Y movement, 45 degree angle.

Before doing any more tests, I initiated a full in-built calibration.

Ran through all calibrations. Input shaping didn't change the settings, it was still 40 with 41. Filament sensor calibration keeps failing. I ignored it.

Looked at the gantry, moved x, y, xy. Noticed belts on the right hand side rubbing against the ptfe tube. Undid the plastic clamp screw, gave the ptfe tube a bit of slack by pushing it, tightened the screw back on the clamp.

Ran more cylinders, alternating between Orca and PrusaSlicer. The horror movie artifacts are gone, although minor imperfections can still be observed.

Further testing warranted. Left is PrusaSlicer, right is Orca.

Tested the VFA tower again. Very minor improvement, the artifacts persist and are strongly visible. 80 to 280, 20 increments.

220, 260 and 280 seem the best speed, but the artifacts are still there even at those speeds. Accel settings below.
