Troubleshooting

The LCD shows “Starting PrusaLink” even after 5+ minutes

  • Make sure you are using the latest FW or
  • Reflash the SD image

“ERR: NO IP” on LCD

  • Make sure you have Wifi in reach or
  • Make sure the SSID and password are correct - download the config file wpa_supplicant.conf, add your SSID and password, save the file to the boot partition on the MicroSD card and restart the Link (turn OFF and ON the printer) or
  • Reflash the SD image

White/blank screen after finishing the Wizard

The Wizard can’t get the serial number from the printer

  • Make sure you are using the latest FW or
  • Check the SN via e.g. Pronterface (@;C32u2_SNR) and let us know

Deleting files from the micro SD card

  • Go to Connect Local (the IP address from the printer, login and password was set in the 2nd step of the Wizard - Authorization) -> Projects -> Prusa Link gcodes

Forgotten login/pass to the Link’s website

  • You have to go through the Wizard again, remove the prusa-printer-settings.ini file from /home/pi and restart the Link or
  • Reflash the SD image

Slow uploading of the gcode to PrusaLink

  • The upload is limited while printing to prevent slowing down the print

Hello

I guess the word "doesn't" is missing in the first sentence:

RE: Troubleshooting

my RPI couldn't find my serial number.

FW 3.12.RC2

Prusalink 7.0.0RC2

Situation:

  • pi could not find serial

Mitigations (result)

  • reset printer (did not fix)
  • power cycled pi + printer (did not fix)
  • disabled rpi port and checked serial with pronterface (serial is correct)
  • re-enabled rpi port (serial is now detected)

RE: Troubleshooting

Exactly, resetting the printer with any power (ideally no data) connected to the printer's USB-B port will make it copy the serial number where it needs to be. Glad you've found a solution 🙂

RE:

Hi, I have set up 0.7.0rc2 and everything seemed to be working OK - but the LCD displayed a message that I needed to re-reg the printer.

I deleted it from Prusa Connect and then re-added it and went through the wizard on the local IP. It is showing (and working fine) in Prusa Connect.

However - when I try to add the (new) API key to PrusaSlicer I get the message:

"Could not connect to PrusaLink: HTTP 403: Bad X-Api-Key"

Could I get some help in solving this please? I have tried with/without the port number for the IP. Using the HTTP digest details works fine.

Thanks!

RE: Troubleshooting

We recommend you use the digest authentication. There is a dropdown in Prusaslicer for auth type. You can generate a new api key in the PrusaLink settings. The one in PrusaConnect is not supposed to work in PrusaLink, but I get that it's confusing. Hope this helps 🙂

Thank you Tojik - I actually figured it out soon after posting but as I'm new here I wasn't able to edit the post at the time.

All working now and I'm not sure if something changed overnight but I now see in the Prusa Connect side there is "API Key" and "PrusaSlicer Key".

I'd just like to say that PrusaConnect/PrusaLink has completely changed the way I use my MK3S (for the better) - so thank you for all your hard work on the project!

RE:

I don't believe the PrusaSlicer key is utilited yet. It should be used for uploading from PrusaSlicer to Connect. Happy to help 🙂

Slicer export to Prusalink fails: "The printer's fingerprint has changed, probably due to a change in the printer's electronics."

I've been using Prusalink direct export from Prusaslicer quite happily for more than a month.  Fixed IP, using API key.  Works great.

Today, after no changes, it shows an error in PrusaConnect next to the printer name, with the following text:

"The printer's fingerprint has changed, probably due to a change in the printer's electronics."

IP is the same, MAC is the same AFAICT.  Nothing has been changed.

I tried power cycling the whole system including Pi Zero, and still the export from Slicer fails with a timeout.

I can still upload via PrusaConnect website and print just fine.

What happened that would give this error?  I've googled and gotten zero hits.

RE: Troubleshooting

Hi, this description does not point to anything we'd know about. Did your printer factory reset?
Try looking at PrusaLink local web interface if you can see what's up. Does it load?
Did the printer's IP change despite it being supposed to be static?
It seems like you're describing two separate problems. But I'm not sure

RE: Troubleshooting

Thanks!  It was a network issue on my side due to a power outage putting me on a different WLAN, which I hadn't noticed.

However, the "Fingerprint" error persists in the Connect interface -- it has no impact, but is there any way to clear it?  Do I need an HTTPS certificate or something?  I'm currently ignoring invalid HTTPS cert, which is fine with me.

RE: Troubleshooting

I’ve followed the instructions as far as I can tell, but when I plug in the pi zero w to the board on the printer (mk3s)  and turn on I just get  blank lines [all pixels lit]  on the display. When I remove the pi zero from the printer and power up, it does (after a couple of minutes) show up on the network and redirect me to a wizard page - any idea what might be causing the printer not to startup properly?

RE: Troubleshooting

Hi, this is usually caused by incorrect wiring or shorting. Please send a picture of the soldered pins for me to have a look. Also, make sure you are using the plastic spacer.

Thanks for replying - that was it - my terrible soldering! After cleaning up and resoldering, it worked straight away - must have just been a poor connection somewhere. thanks for you help!

Whats the default username and password for the LINUX install on the PI? (it says "prusalink login:", we have to grab the MAC address and set up the WiFi before we can connect it, its running on the bench with a keyboard / mouse and HDMI display.

Many Thanks

RE: Troubleshooting

Thanks... we since fixed the issue by re0burning the image with the Pi Imager setting the WiFi details in that....  As you dont want SSH on, how is everything updates in the OS and applications (we would normally do this via SSH)

Many Thanks

Hi, sorry, it's either a one by one, or by enabling ssh and then deleting through that.
