Thermistor Heatbreak Failure
Okay,
I have gone back and forth multiple times with support trying to figure this out over the last few months (school has kept me busy this year, what can I say). My toolhead one on a random day decided to start having a thermistor error. Easy I thought, I replaced thermistor, still has error. Okay. I replace heater element, still error. I swap dwarf board (TH5 and TH1) and still error on TH1. I swap a new main power cable and guess what… still an error. I finally got time to swap in a new sandwich board AND STILL AN ERROR. I am lost now. What more could cause this issue to be occurring? I have ran back firmware as well just tried 6.4.1 and no difference…
I don’t know what to do and any help / options is appreciated.
RE: Thermistor Heatbreak Failure
Have you ever tried cleaning the Molex connector on the top of the Dwarf Board and on the Buddy? Recommendation: Use a soft brass brush and isopropyl alcohol (IPA), then treat all contacts with DeoxIT Contact Cleaner G100PS-2 Gold.
The contacts “oxidize” over time when exposed to air. Every movement “scrapes” away the oxidized layer to reveal bare metal, but they oxidize again immediately. The contact quality deteriorates with every movement. If the contacts remained stationary without vibration, we wouldn’t have these problems. The Molex connectors should be replaced with gold connectors.
