Does the MK3.5 kit support the REVO fast change nozzle ?

I have my MK3S+ upgraded with the REVO fast change nozzle and the MMU3 installed.

I was thinking to order the MK3.5 to speed up the prints.

However, till now there is no MMU3 daughter board for the MK4 (STM32), so I will order the MK3.5 kit only after PRUSA will release the MMU3 for MK4.

But then it comes the big question:

- Does the MK3.5 kit support the REVO Nozzle ? 🙄
In theory yes, but in practise I think not, since even on the MK3S it was required to use the PRUSA/REVO Fw special version due to different thermal model.

Regards

Found this on github https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/releases

"E3D REVO hotend

As of now, there might be issues with running the REVO hotend produced by the company E3D on the MK3.5. While testing this configuration, we discovered that due to the strict checks built into the firmware, the initial self-test will fail.

It is possible to start the print, however, we recommend waiting for the upcoming release, which will extend the support for 3rd party hotends."

Seems we have to wait for the next Firmware Release

I just spoke with PRUSA support and they confirmed that for now the REVO is not supported on the Buddy. 😔

So I did not order it. I hope E3D will work on it.

RE:

One selftest is not passing (hotend) and you need to confirm on lcd that you want to continue without finishing full selftest. You do that at each print start.

That's the current problem with Revo. Beside that it just works and prints fine.

As I have written in another thread, I for myself can *not* confirm any problems with the Revo. Selftest ran through perfectly, printing works fine, there were/are no error messages whatsoever. At least one other guy did also _not_ have problems with his Revo setup as he wrote in his review. This is getting mysterious 🤔

Interesting, I have had one working on the mini for 1 year +.

As others mentioned, the MK3.5 with the Revo hot end will not pass the self-test (for the hot end only), but it prints just fine. I contacted Prusa and a firmware update that will support the Revo hot end will be out next month. Do yourself a favor and order the upgrade, you will not regret it, it is FAST! Be prepared for a 4 to 5 hour install...

The 3.5 upgrade assembly instructions has nothing specific to where you plug the MMU into the buddy board I presume an adapter connector or a new MMU cable will be required. (I note there is already some workaround discussion on this at https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mmu3-general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/cable-mmu3-to-mk4/   .  How the 24V is to be fed to the MMU needs to be sorted).

I have also ordered the upgrade in anticipation of REVO capability.

My bad...  There is a cable available which is shown as an optional buy on the 3.5 order

Yes, do not forget to order the special cable for the MMU3. It is not in the 3.5 kit. 😉

It is this cable that is delaying my shipping, since it not in stock.

I finished the 3.5 upgrade last weekend with a revo hotend and it passed the selftest and prints perfectly.

Just upgraded to MK3.5 myself. I have the Revo hotend, and find the latest firmware 5.2.2 does support the Revo.

All working great on my printer.
