Printing with new extruder parts for MMU3, but without MMU?

I have almost everything done for setting up my new MMU3 on a Mk3.5. My issue is space: Before I can actually use it, I need to make a shelf and re-arrange things.

That includes replacing the printer holder on the MMU with a plate holder, due to the arrangement I have to use. I'd like to just slide the MMU over, put a spool holder on the top of the printer, and print out another plate holder by itself. In other words, even though I've set up the MMU, in the firmware, and done everything up to loading the filaments, I'd like to back up a bit to print this one item.

I'm thinking I would have to turn off the MMU in the Settings, print, then turn it back on. It would seem to me once I turn the MMU back on (in the Settings), that it'll simply restart the MMU and I won't have to deal with a lot of setting changes. I also know I have to re-calibrate the print head and Z offset, since I had to work on the extruder and hotend to prepare for the MMU.

Can I do a simple single-filament print like this and is there anything else I need to remember in doing this?

Chatted with Tech Support about this. The answer is that you can. By switching off the MMU, you can change to "Single Mode," and print as if there is no MMU, just one filament, like before adding the MMU. Then, when done, switch the MMU on. I'm told that it will keep the MMU settings (such as what filaments are loaded) during that time.
