MMU2S - when loading a filament, sometimes other filament catches the gears and moves forward a bit leaving a possibility of jamming the selector
I've had my MMU2S (two of them), for a while. I do get good prints for the most part, making a lot of the upgrades people generally do, including bigger ID tubes. Now, because they have so much less friction, I generally don't have much problems loading. Additionally, I do have a buffer so I don't have any of those types of issues either (I don't think).
My issue is that I think that sometimes, all the filament barely touches the gears, so if one filament is loading, whatever catches could potentially advance anywhere from 4 to 15 mm. So let's say I'm loading filament 1. While filament 1 loads, filament 3 catches and advances a tiny bit. When filament 1 retracts, filament 3 does not retract, perhaps because there's more backpressure than pull pressure. So when the filament changer starts moving, anywhere from going to filament 3-5 it'll jam up, because that little bit of filament is sticking out. Honestly, this has been the biggest reason I've had any jams. I don't usually have any other major issues besides maybe filament that needs drying and snaps, or a filament that's so curved that it misses the filament selector altogether.
Has anyone encountered this? Does anyone have a solve? I feel like if there was a tiny bit more friction in the tubes that would solve it, or if the filament hovered above the gear like half a millimeter more, that would also solve it.
Thanks in advance!
Bobby

the only big problems I see are filaments that require drying and then snap, or filaments that are so curled that they completely elude the filament selector.

Your filament seems to be tangled and having difficulty getting into the filament selector. This makes it easy to cause paper jams. Maybe I should replace it with a new set of filaments
