Every print starts with "remove old filament"
Hey guys,
I'm having a bit weird behaviour during my MMU prints.
Every time I start a MMU print, after the bed leveling the extruder moves up a bit and I got the message that I have tor emove the old old filament and press the knob afterwards.
There is no filament in the extruder. I just could press the knob and the printer starts to load the filament without any big issues.
In case I do an single coler print, the printer asks wich filemant I would like to load and erverything ist fine. It also happens during a MMU print.
I took a look at the sensors and every senser is on "0"
I reinstalled the prusa slicer as well without any changes.
Do you have an idea?
Marco
RE: Every print starts with "remove old filament"
Hi, I just want to mention that a fix for this is coming in 3.13.1: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/pull/4332 it's not a new issue but seems more people were seeing it on 3.13.0 so we finally found the source of the problem and fixed it.
RE: Every print starts with "remove old filament"
Thanks a lot for your Info.
I'm looking forward for the next update.
RE: Every print starts with "remove old filament"
I was able to get around this bug by temporarily unplugging the Super PINDA and plugging in the old PINDA to reactivate the setting "PINDA Calibration" and turn it off. When I plugged the Super PINDA back in, no more remove old filament message, second bed level or grinding at the beginning of purge.
RE: Every print starts with "remove old filament"
I solved this by doing a factory reset on both, MMU and the printer after I flashed both new frimwares.
You will loose all settings and have to run through the wizard again and also need to do first layer calibration for all sheets.
It would be clever to note your live Z values for the different sheets to set them up quickly again.
Took me 45min in total

So u replaced supr pinda with normal pinda

RE: Every print starts with "remove old filament"
Only temporarily to reveal the setting “pinda calibration” and turn it off. The SUPER pinda does not need calibration so this setting will not show with it installed.
The factory reset clears the calibration values in the eeprom but turning off pinda cal lets the system ignore those values instead. This explains why this issue in GitHub says mk3s+ is unable to reproduce because they ship with the SUPER Pinda and never had cal data stored or the setting turned on like mk3/s.

FW 3.13.2 RC1 has been released and includes a fix for the issue in case others stumble on this thread. No need for factory reset.

RE: Every print starts with "remove old filament"
On github, you can keep track of the problems there are with firmwares on a daily basis.
Here they are.
