Lubricating filament passage for Lack enclosure?

Hello,

I've been in the process of setting up the lack table enclosure for my MK3S, and I really like the idea in theory...but in practice, the filaments keep catching on the piece that is put through the hole in the top table to pass the filament through.  This not only creates a very loud and obnoxious noise, but has also resulted in issues with prints - the printer has to pull harder than it should on the filament, and sometimes the pull is strong enough that it actually moves the print head, leaving me with layer shifts and sometimes just outright failures.

Just wondering if I can lubricate this piece, and if so - what should I use?  I've seen posts from people wanting to use vegetable oil, but that just seems like it's asking for trouble once that oil hits the hot end at a much higher temperature than its smoke point.  Would a graphite spray lubricant work?  Something else?  Just give up and go back to the uncovered spool holder?

Thanks in advance!

And actually, just some further info - I printed the piece in question out of PETG.  Would it work better if I were to print it out of PLA?

Hi,

It shouldn't matter what you print the filament tulip out of. The bore of the tulip is quite large and should binds the filament.

Are you sure your unwind stand is working correctly? Is the wide open? Is there something else effecting the filament feed?
