Printhead moves up in the far left corner

Hey there,

so i got my Prusa i3 Mk2s assembled and already made a lot of prints.
It worked perfectly fine for the last week.

Now i tried to make some smaller prints, and print them all at the same time, so they fully filled my print bed.
What i realized was, that as soon as the printhead moves to the far left corner, it just goes up for ca. 0,5mm so the first layer has no chance of sticking to the bed.
The head comes down as soon as it leaves the corner.
This happens while printing the skirt as well as the actual print.

It starts 5mm before the head comes to the PINDA probe point, approaching from the right, then goes around the corner (nearly max print volume) and goes on for the same distance.

I am unable to post videos at the moment, because my smartphone camera is broken :c

Has anyone else had this problem or knows a solution?

I am glad for any suggestions.

Happy printing,
Georg

My guess would be that your PINDA probe triggers too early at that point. Thinking your bed is higher than it actually is the nozzle will move up a little bit to avoid crashing into the printbed.
The PINDA probe is quite sensitive and I guess it is actually detecting the wire under the heatbed of the thermistor. So I would try to reroute it (away from the calibration point) and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks for the tip, Sherlock.

Even if it wasn't the solution for my problem, it indeed had to do with bad cable management.

Upon further investigation, I saw that the cables from the Hotend heater and thermal probe pushed DOWN on the cover of the heatbed cables, rather than the Printhead moving up.
Just guiding them a little different did the trick.

So you basically guided me in the right direction.

Another time you see, how important good cable management is.

Case closed, I guess.
Thank you !

Greetings ,
Georg
