MK2S Kit: Assembling problem: Having trouble with Y Axis Adjustment step 7 to 8

Hey there,

Recently bought the mk2s kit and its my first venture into 3d printing. Unfortunately I've got stuck on step 8 I can fit the y axis into the slots on the frame but only 2 of the corners are properly standing vertically. I've spent a while adjusting and readjusting and I think that when I solve the issue the the y axis no longer fits into the slots. And when I adjust to fix that the corners stop being vertical.

I looked into the comment section and some commenters recommended spacers.

Does anyone have any tips to fix this problem or is it something I shouldn't worry about as it gets fixed later? Or do I just need to keep trying, I'm no engineer and I know thing problem is to do with angles and the length of rectangles but I'm unaware of any methods besides measuring and getting lucky. The put wrenches inbetween the front and rear rods didnt appear to do anything. And I don't want to put too much stress on the 3d printed parts.

Thanks for reading and help would be appreciated

As far as I can remember my build its really just trying out.
Try to turn one of the inner nuts just a quarter round, followed by the outer nuts to secure the Y-corner. Take your time. You do not have to necessarly measure anything, as humans are pretty good at estimating, so you can eyeball the rectangular shape.
I can't remember this really was a problem for me, so again take your time and try your best.
Hope you will finish your build soon. 🙂

Sherlock,
Thank you for you're reply I believe I may have fixed the issue.. It looks straight from what I can see and all the corners look vertical.
One issue I encountered was one of the corners was hovering. And I discovered that this was mostly due to the table I was working on not being quite level. But on flat ground all four corners do not hover and appear quite vertical. I'm assuming that its the sort of thing you only truly know you've got right until you try the calibration. So I'm going to continue building and attempt to fix any issues as they arise.

I have another kind of vague question.. How tight do the nuts need to be? In other words how much stress is the frame put under is it the sort of thing that might need retightening every now and then. I don't want to really tighten the nuts too hard because it will make the frame go slightly out of wack and I also don't want to put too much stress on the 3d printed parts. Is this an issue you ever encountered?

I'll mark a best answer and close the thread once I get an answer and/ or believe I will not have any more 'alignment' based issues.
