Magnet insertion during pause... safe for bed calibration?

A little over a year ago david.b14 wrote on these forums that inserting magnets into your prints may be a bad idea:

https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/print-tips-slic3r-settings-kisslicer-model-repair--f12/pausing-print-job-to-insert-non-3d-printed-items-t3292.html#p25313

Seeing as the mk3 uses magnets to secure the print surface, I am wondering if this could still be an issue. Can we get an official answer?

Cheers!

official answers are few and far between, at the moment...

magnetising the probe points is a nonsense, you will always have a steel sheet in the way, when printing...

the heater clamp screw and to a lesser degree, the thermistor grub screw, might be more of a problem..., and if you have one, a hardened steel nozzle.

I try to make my magnets tight and deep in their holes, and add a drop of superglue to hold them still as the extruder passes over them... so that the magnets do not try to flip out and stick to the extruder...
