I finished my mk3 build today...had some weird things and one problem
Because i was pretty busy I finished my mk3 spreaded over 6days.
Today I did the wiring and calibration.
First I did all the calibration and then I did the firmware update.. after the update the z offset I did was not good anymore and I need to redo it.
Is this only happening after a firmmawareupdate or is this firstlayer setup needed after every repowering the printer. (Cannot test it because it's printing atm VERY NICELY 😁)
When I did the first time "first layer setup" I've got very strange symbols at the screen(see attachment ). When I restarted the proces it was ok.. .. then I did the firmware update so hopefully it was a one time issue only .
Now a material /fillament question...
When I was building it one of the parts cracked a bit. It was the y axis motor mount.
I am think I overtied it a bit. But it didn't feel like it. When I tighten it like the other screw it just cracked. Luckely tyhe part is still strong enough but still I want to replace the part.
Is the orange plastic type available on the prusa website?.

Prusa´s only bright Orange filament on the website is this easy ABS:

A German filament producer sells PETG that (they claim) is similar to the Prusa colour:

I´ve used their PLA and it is good quality for a nice price, haven´t tried their PETG yet as I don´t have a working printer atm. Shipping outside the EU might be expensive though, can´t comment on that as I´m German.

I don't have the manual in front of me now, but I believe after firmware updates it says you will need to recalibrate the Z axis, so that is normal. I also got the alien language showing on mine. Restarted and it cleared up.
