CURA - Start Code

Hi,

i tried using CURA 3.1.0 with MK3, but it did weird start, moving slowly and extruding much more than enough...I'm used to slic3r, so i wonder what is your start code for MK3 ?

Thanks for any advice

Happy print 🙂

Re: CURA - Start Code

That'll be it getting mixed up between relative extrusion mode and absolute. Cura by default does absolute extrusion, by there is a setting under the Special Modes print setup which turns on relative extrusion (you might need to un-hide that option in preferences). The start g-code will still be absolute.

My start g-code when I do use use Cura 3.2 is as follows.
M115 U3.1.1 ; tell printer latest fw version
G21 ; set units to millimeters
G90 ; use absolute positioning
M109 S170 ; wait and warm up the hotend
G28 W,; home all without mesh bed level
G0 Z80 Y-3 F4000 ; PINDA keep cool and move the nozzle up front to make cleaning easier
M190 S{material_bed_temperature_layer_0} ; wait for bed temp
G80 ; mesh bed leveling
M104 S{material_print_temperature_layer_0} ; set extruder temp
G1 Y-3.0 F1000.0 ; go outside print area
M109 S{material_print_temperature_layer_0} ; wait for extruder temp
G92 E0.0
G1 X60.0 E9.0 F1000.0 ; intro line
G1 X100.0 E21.5 F1000.0 ; intro line
G1 E20.8 F1500 ; retraction -1mm
G1 Z0.600 F1002 ; z-hop
G92 E0.0 ; reset extruder distance position

Hi Rob,

I checked "relative extrusion" in special mode, it was not marked and i left it like this.

I copy/paste your start code (and upgrade Cura to 3.2 and MK3 to 3.1.1 last release). Everything looks good !

Thank you !

Happy print 🙂
