Y-axis constantly crashing in bridge infill layer after internal infill layers

Good morning makers,

in the moment i am a bit at a loss.

My issue is the following:

After printing internal infill layers, the bridge infill directly above ends up in constantly crashing y-axis. Only y-axis. X-axis is perfectly fine, like the rest of the complete print. Also the surface and layer quality of my prints is totally fine.

I already checked the complete knowledge base in relation to the crash detection issue. But i'm not able to point out the issue. Only solution an the moment is to switch of the crash detection. However this leaves me a little uncompfortable in case that I want to print over night for example. In addition, crashing axis in combination with constantly homing, ruins the surface qualty of my prints from time to time. Very frustrating in case of a visible top surface that should be nice and clean.

I attached some screenshots from my models  where i show the last internal infill and in combination with that, the bridge infill layer that fails.

Any ideas from the community how to solve that issue?

Thanks upfront. 🙂

Philipp

RE: Y-axis constantly crashing in bridge infill layer after internal infill layers

I had something alike, on some parts really repetitive at certain height. After removing the tension belt from a problematic axis it appeared that I could feel a little "tick" when moving it by hand. It appeared as if during assembly some dirt got caught into the linear bearing causing enough localized friction to trigger collision detection. Using highly penetrative oil and vigorously moving the carriage back and forth for about ten minutes removed the problem without the need of disassembling the axis completely.
