Why not?

But why do you need it at all? After the bed was cold each of my PETG prints was totally loose. I didn't need any build plate preparation.

Which sheet do you have?

The textured sheet doesn't need anything for PETG.

The smooth sheet needs something to reduce PETG's grip. For PETG printed below 240C, a spray of Windex or just a few wipes of your fingers on a clean bed is sufficient. If using higher temps, glue stick may be necessary.

Another random factor to consider: some PETG sticks like superglue; some PETG wants a clean sheet (smooth PEI).  So use Windex and try a very small part. If it sticks well enough you are good to go; if it doesn't stick, it's the PETG that favors clean; if it sticks better than expected, use glustik for safety.

Isn’t that the truth!  No two PETGs are the same.

Very true.  The 2 PETGs I've tried to print so far (Prusament Orange, and Overture Black) both wanted dishsoap washed sheet and Overture wanted an IPA wipe in addition.  Both popped-off just fine when the plate was cool.  I've now started doing a soap wash AND an IPA wipe for my PETG runs.  So I have yet to print a "sticks like superglue" PETG, but clearly some people have that experience.

If you want a challenge, try 3DXTech Matte PETG at 270C! That was the downfall of my 1st PEI sheet.

I have tried at least 20 brands.  I am contemplating doing reviews if there is an interest.

How did you finally get it to print?

Gluestick worked for the 2nd try, but I found MagiGoo a less messy alternative. Here's the same print on the same (damaged) PEI surface after printing with MagiGoo:

Until you get sloppy and try to apply it to a hot bed. Then it's just an expensive scrubber.
