Burns and gaps on otherwise good quality print

I printed a self watering planter that didn't require supports and that several people had no trouble with ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2100029). Generic PLA, 0.4 nozzle, 0.2 mm layer as per instructions. Printed on MK3S+

The bottom part had burn marks and gaps close to the base. The top part had small burns but it was a long print (about 4 hours) so probably to be expected. As the rest of the print turned out great I would appreciate suggestions as to what could cause this.

Hi Julie,
Is there molten filament on top of the heater block? between the heater block and the heatsink?

if there is, you may have the remains of a Blob of Doom, or perhaps an incorrectly fitted nozzle.
