Y-axis crash causes X-axis layer shift
Hi
I've started printing the parts for the LACK enclosure and I'm encountering some issues. On both prints that I've done/started, I've had an X-layer shift occur. I let the first print finish to see if it would be an issue and if it would reoccur on next prints. Unfortunately, it has. On the second print I stopped the print as soon as I saw the saw the shift. I also noticed the shift occurred after the print restarted. The weird thing: the crash occurs for the X-axis, but the layer shift happens on the X-Axis.
Troubleshooting I did:
- Full selftest, all turned out ok
- Changed bed calibration from 3x3 to 7x7 (don't know if this would have any effect)
- Checked belt tensions. Both are between 250 and 270
I've attached a picture of the first (left) print and the second (right) print.
Does anyone have an idea what might be the problem?

Hi Thomas,
the front left hand model in your picture, seems to show a layer shift to the left and then a couple of layers higher, an equal shift back in the opposite direction.
this suggests that the motor toothed wheel retaining grub screws are loose and the toothed wheel is slipping a little
One of the grub screws should be fastened against the centre of the flat on the motor shaft, and the other should be fastened against the side of the shaft afterwards.
