Print times keeps extending each Print

I am printing multiple of the same items. But every time I print it the next time it extends the time by 20-40 minutes. For example the first print for the items was 6 hrs 9 minutes. 2nd time it took 6hr 49, 3rd 7 hr 9, now for the 4th time it’s 8 hr 33. I’m not sure why it’s continually taking longer and longer to print the same item over and over.

What would be causing this to take longer every time I print the item (I am printing 30 items on each print).

Unclear so far

When you say you print it a second time - are you re-slicing between prints or using the same GCODE?  Or, are you printing multiple copies on the same print and asking about why the print gets longer each time you increase the # of copies being printed?  Your description leaves both interpretations (and a few more even) open.  Are you using the SD card to print from the control panel menu?  Or are you using Octoprint to launch each print - print it.  Print it again.  Print it again... from the same octoprint file?

Need way more detail to even begin to anchor on what you are asking.

Sorry I wasn’t more clear. No all I am doing is after the object(s) are done its 30 small items on the same print bed. I am just cleaning the print bed using the same gcode not changing anything.
Just going back into the printer and printing from SD card. For whatever reason the prints just keep taking longer and longer each time

RE:

Do you have anything in your gcode that sets any speed to something less than 100%?

Oooh, that is strange

I have thousands of cycles on "select from SD, print" under my belt.  I've never seen what you are describing.  Unless there is some custom GCODE in your file that alters the printer's baseline speed ... this sounds like it could be frustrating.

Here's what to look for - on your display on the control panel, what is the speed %?  Is it dropping each time you print?  Now, something you _can_ do is up the speed.   While your print is running, rotating the control wheel clockwise (keep going) will change the %NNN displayed there - so if it is just starting to slow down like in the print head is starting to noticeably move more slowly - boost the speed with the control wheel.  Boosting in this way will "stick" between prints - which is why I'm wondering if there is "cut speed" command in your GCODE.  How did you come by that GCODE?

I can check the speed thing you described when I get home from work and a start a another print.

As far as the file, it is a clip made for 1/2 pvc pipe for a particular hobby (Christmas Lights). I downloaded it off of Thingiverse loaded it into PrusaSlicer. Made 30 copies on the print bed, changed the filament type to Prusament PETG (what I’m using) changed the infill to 15-25% not real sure now. And hit slice, then copied gcode to the SD card. I didn’t make any changes other than that. I figured it was a pretty simple process, needing to print a bunch of these around 1000 or so.

If so I don’t know how as I didn’t make any changes other than filament type & infill percentage. Everything is set to default from PrusaSlicer. I don’t have enough experience to go changes things I don’t know what they do. I have been able to get many successful prints and don’t want to jinx it. I probably would t have noticed this if I didn’t need so many. That’s how I noticed was I went in after 6 hr mark thinking it would be close to finished and it had an hour+ left. So that was when I started really noticing the increase in every print

RE:

I think it would be helpful for you to zip up the .3mf and post it here when you get home so we can see your settings.

RE: Print times keeps extending each Print

I think I found the problem. When I got home yesterday the last print took 7hr 41 min. So I started another print and once it started going it was printing at 81%. I didn’t even know rotating the knob would slow the printer speed down. So I’m not sure how every time I was printing it was getting longer because I usually only print before bed & before work. So I’m never home while they are printing.

however I started a new print today and adjusted the speed back up to 100% so I will see how long the print will take. I will update you guys tomorrow but I think that was the problem.

thank you in advance for the help!
