Solution for boot loop MK2.5

Hey Prusa community,

so far I was mainly consuming information here but I have some recent lessons learned which I'd like to share and hope it's helpful for others: today I had to rebuild my E-Axis (hotend etc) and after doing that, I ran some tests. Everything worked fine until I switched the printer off. When switching it on later on, it got stuck displaying "Original Prusa i3" - nothing else happened. I checked the forum for common solutions and all suggested to reflash which I did, to. I could reflash and reset the firmware but never got beyond the start/splash message "Original Prusa i3".

Weird thing: it went from working to broken without me changing anything (that's what I thought). But hold on - it later came to me that I made a very stupid mistake: When I tested the printer, the initial auto-load did not work so I just unplugged the filament sensor and plugged it in rotated, thinking that this might quick-fix it. Still, the sensor would not pick up any signal and let me autoload so I continued with manual filament loading and forgot about the rotated connector. The printer continued to work just fine as long as it was on. Only later when restarting, it ran into the boot screen issue.

Again, very stupid mistake and it took me some flashing, time and thinking over a beer to figure it out.

Cheers

J
