Firmware update w/ Chromebox

I have Prusa Slicer working on my Chromebox, but when I try to update the firmware it doesn't detect the printer.  Anybody have success doing this?

I don't know squat about Chromebox but my first guess would be that you don't have the USB driver for the printer installed.

I used Octoprint plugin, took a lil while to figure it out but it works great.

I use (a jail-broken) Chromebox for streaming but not for 3d printing.

If it's a stock Chromebox, there are many quirks with the OS that will cause it to not behave as expected.  I (as others have done) did a 'jailbreak' on it and installed a stock Ubuntu on it.

So far it's done everything for me, the only issue is Prusa Slicer will flicker for some reason. I'll look into Ubuntu.

It takes some jiggery-pokery to put Ubuntu on the Chromebox.  Depending on your Chromebox model you may need to remove a restricting screw (the 'R2D2 Restraining Bolt') and re-flash the box firmware.  There are instructions out there on the net. Be sure you use instructions for your exact model.

Chromeboxes are cheap and powerful, major step up from the RPI for a small machine.  They are sold cheap because they are apparently subsidized by the Google tie-in.
