Explain la for me please

I do not get how this stuff work. Do I need to activate it with a special g-code for all my profiles? Or can I just print and it’s there?

Do I need to calibrate it depending on filament? I print mainly just tpu.
I have a mk3s running latest firmware (not alpha or beta).

Since there is no edit button atleast not when using a iPhone I give some more Info here. I use pretty profiles but not for tpu. I saw that prusa is getting la 1.5 so I guess if I am to calibrate tpu I need to use a new system or does it work the same? Do I need to calibrate for each type of filament brand or is it enough to do pla, petg and so on?

Chris Warkocki wrote the 'Pretty' profiles, he may be your best point of contact!

or have a look at your G code

one of mine has:-

M900 K18 ; Filament gcode  (Linear Advance) setting in prusa profile for PLA

the Prusa Generic flex, and Semiflex or flexfil 98a both have M900 K0 ; Filament gcode   (Linear advance turned off)

your profile may be different...

In Prusa Slicer the linear advance setting is done in the 'Filament Settings>Custom Gcode' menu which is an 'Expert Mode' Option

for TPU, I turn retraction off too!

and for small sections I turn the fan on and reduce speed!
