Crash Diagnostics - Is there a way to report Z location or XYZ location on crash event?

I am searching for a way to obtain a report of the Z or ideally the XYZ location of the printhead on a crash event. I want this information to help with troubleshooting crash events. The Stratasys Fortus 450 we have at work reports the layer that the crash occurs on. This is very helpful when attempting to diagnose a print failure/crash. The information displays the Z-axis position during the print, so I would think it would be a reasonably easy firmware change to have the printer report the z-axis position when a crash event is detected.

Is anyone aware of how this information can be obtained for the i3 Mk3 S+? Can this be done with Octoprint, Print Log, or another tool?

Thanks in advance for everyone's input.

3Delight,

Thank you for the response. This article is certainly relevant to my query. It seems that Pras is looking for the same sort of data that I am. Based on my review of the article it appears that Prusa Link and potentially Octoprint both may have the ability to read ahead and report the G-code line that the printer is executing or getting ready to execute. If the g-code line could be reported on a crash event, then this would provide me with the diagnostic data I am looking for. Cheers and have a Merry Christmas.
