Corroded wire to heat bed

As shown in the below picture, the power wire to my heatbed is badly corroded and fried looking. Any idea what causes this? Can I just replace the wire?

Looks like there are some bad cables out there:

@Admins: Please forward this information to QC department. So far it looks like some cables are bad crimped by the factory and causing this issue.

If your cable is long enough, crimp on a new connector. You can also run a new wire - and crimp on two connectors.

Just do a better job than the factory did.

I also suspect Support would send you a new cable - but I would just make my own.

RE: Corroded wire to heat bed

electro-chemical corrosion caused by different elements connecting each other (for example stainless steel and aluminium -> a result is the white Aluminiumoxide).

The result of the chemical process is increasing resistance, heating up the contacts, melting the ports  - Carsten
