Smart outlet shutdown?

I would like to be able to turn off my machine remotely instead of using the power switch.

Any way this can harm the machine due to lack of a shutdown sequence?

I don't think there is a big difference if you use the switch on the PSU or another switch that is further upstream. In each case it is just a simple switch. I just would wait a few minutes after the end of a print job until the hotend has been cooled down by the fan again. 5 minutes should be enough.
There are other schools of thought ... 😉

I've done it literally thousands of times. No issues. Some will argue to let the hotend cool down first. Probably good advice but I just turn them off at any time.

Formerly known on this forum as @fuchsr -- until all hell broke loose with the forum software...
