Partial prints

I have a large print (24 hours), but it has some tricky parts which I would like to make sure work before I commit the entire print.  If there is a problem, I might be able too fix it if I have only a two-hour print to do.  What I would like to do is in slic3r tell it "I want to print only this tiny piece right here" and give it an outline of, say, a rectangular prism that encloses the piece I want to trial-print.  Suggestions on how to do this?

RE: Partial prints

Hi flounder,

I did the same the other day, and for me it worked like this:

You can add "negative volume" parts and place them over all the regions you *don't* want to have printed. These 'blockers' are easily removed after your test.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that this will only work with the newer 2.4.x beta versions of Slicer.

2.3.3. didn't have that feature.

Great.  Yes, I have 2.3.3.  I will get the beta version.

Or use the cut function (c key) to cut different parts away. You will have to rotate the model a few times as the cut function only works in the xy plane.
