I need help making up my mind
Let me start by saying I have done more reading on 3d printing than I care to admit. Everyday, every bit of spare time is spent reading forums, looking for advice, reading about different issues, slicing models, making temp towers. The list goes on and on. I've read about the PINDA probe issue, inconsistent extrusion, torque ratings, power supply issues, extruder motor over heating, new firmware causing the nozzle to crash into the bed, and again, the list goes on and on. Needless to say I have been reading ALOT. I knew about some of these issues before making my purchase.
I will admit it has given me a bit of cold feet. Especially when it was shown that Marlin has the same extrusion issues as the Prusa Firmware. There has been more than one time that I have thought about cancelling the MK3 order and getting a MK2S. The only reason I don't really want to get the MK2S is, I want the bed that is on the MK3.
All the above being said. Should I get the MK2S, or should I keep my MK3 order?

The only one who can answer that for you, is you. That said, I am happy with my MK3 printer and wouldn't want to settle for the MK2s. Other people are not and have regrets.
From what I read, the MK2 also had similar growing pains when it was first shipped. No 3d printer is perfect, but I have faith that any remaining issues will be resolved in 6 months to a year (but hopefully sooner). Since I didn't buy the printer for the short term I can afford to wait for the bugs to be ironed out. If you cannot then you already have your decision made. 🙂

I got anxious waiting for the mk3 and got an mp mini to keep me occupied in the meantime. I feel like it was a good stepping stone into printing and a good learning experience without having to deal with the software complexities of the prusa (or any other high end printer for that matter)
pinda probe: there were issues with leveling and temp calibration, but the fixes and data collected by users are already in the latest RC
inconsistent extrusion: i haven't seen any talk of this, unless you're talking about linear advance, which fixes for are also in the RC
extruder overheating: haven't seen issues with this either. completely normal and its fine up to 95C. regardless its identical to most other steppers out there so an mk2 wouldn't be any better
power supply: if you're talking about the rattling, its an easy fix and doesn't really hurt anything anyway

My MK3 is my second 3D printer and the first I've built from a kit. It prints flawlessly, quietly and has blown away all my expectations. I followed the instructions carefully and found it to be the best kit build experience I've ever had.
In short, I'd recommend keeping the MK3 order. I placed my order in November and didn't get my printer until early March. It was worth the wait.

I have a MK2S and a MK3 (and a I3 clone i have had for three and a half years).
I built both the Prusa machines from kits and to be honest I love them both. Actions speak louder than words but I have been printing all wekk and it has all been on the MK3. The only issues I sometimes get is if I plate up a full bed of parts I get a print failure but if I do a Z calibration before doing a full bed print then it works OK.
I read all of the forums posts on the MK3 while I was waiting for it and was starting to get twitchy BUT I have not found any real issues with it, and holy crap is it quiet! If you are having a kit and build it carefully I do not see any issues, I did 3D print an X-axis motor tensioner plate as I did find the X belt a little difficult to get tensioned to my satisfaction. If you get a fully built machine I would suggest going over it with an allen key just to tighten anything up which may have slackened during shipping.
Incidentally, I am still using the firmware it shipped with although I am planning to upgrade both printers to the latest firmware once I fnd a bit of time, too may projects,

I have a mk3. The filament sensor is a bit flakey. The removeable bed is brilliant
I am happy with the print quality.
I have a mk2. I am looking to upgrade to mk2.5
I have a mk2 mmu i am looking to upgrade that to version2 mmu whick needs either mk3 or mk2.5 base unit

Ahh, yes. Should have aso mentioned the filament sensor is a little temperamental. But as I only really use it dor auto loading it is not really a problem.
