what is causing this defect in both abs and pla prints on a MK3S printer?
I'm trying to print a cylindrical part that needs a reasonably smooth surface. I'll be sanding with wet/dry sandpaper. Attached is a photo showing the defect in all three tries. black and white are ABS and the beige is PLA. My problem is the wavy vertical design that shows up to one degree or another on all prints near the bottom of each one. The circular defect about half way up is a problem with the model. I use Fusion 360 to create the model and for this part is a simple extrusion of a profile. I'm using Prusa Slicer 2.3.3.
Does that happen only on one side of cylinder, or is the same on opposite side? Maybe it could also help knowing cylinder orientation on the bed (is defect on front/back, or left/reght?).

Only on one side. It looks like it is 45 deg between the rear of the print and the right side as viewed from the rear.

Upload a .3mf file saved after slicing the project
In Prusa slicer, do a file-save as after you slice the print with your settings (not interested in the resulting gcode). Zip that file up and load it here with the Attach File button under the text frame where you can type things like I am doing. I want to see if your defects are built into your models, or a print artifact - so only way to tell is see the model with the slicer settings applied.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've attached a zip of the 3mf (101k) and the 3mf(106k) unzipped and none are being saved here in my post. Where would they show up?

How do I reach a forum admin to see if my id is blocked from attaching files. I've tried multiple times and none show up in the post. I'd like to get this question answered but without the ability to upload the .3mf file I'm stuck.
Try this
Hit the add media button. Look at the media library tab. It should show any files that you successfully uploaded. Zip's are shown too, and you can insert them as part of the add media flow at that point. If you are trying to select both the zipped and the unzipped file at the same time, that would cause an upload to possibly fail because of the contained non-valid file format. Also, max file size is 10MB.

Thanks, I finally heard back from the forum admin. They said only media files can be attached to a post. I tried printing the troublesome part using ABS filament and it came out fine for now I'll "fix" my problem by switching from PLA to ABS.
